What Life In Elon Musk’s Mars Colony Will Be Like

The colonization of Mars as envisioned by Elon Musk is quite a daring and strategic course of action that can help make humans inhabitants of more than one celestial body. And at the core of this vision is SpaceX the company Musk started with the express purpose of changing the space industry.

Rather, the plan is to create the Starship, a fully reusable vehicle for transporting up to 100 settlers and cargo to Mars. By the mid of the 21st century, Musk believes there will be a city on Mars with around one million inhabitants, which will be able to sustain itself.

This colony would be completely dependent on the planet, using Mars-Anchor concepts like in-situ resource utilization for extracting water and synthesizing both oxygen and fuel from the soil of the planet.

The long-term objectives of Mars exploration are to reach permanent habitation on Mars with humans, to serve as a backup for humanity in case the Earth becomes uninhabitable, and to open the door to more extensive colonization and exploration of the solar system.
