Voyager 1 Just Made a Terrifying Discovery and Is Returning to Earth!

NASA’s Voyager 1 is an important unmanned spacecraft that has been launched on the 5th of September in the year 1977 to study the outer planets of the Solar System.

Voyager 1 was first designed for performing flybys of Jupiter and Saturn planets; however, it has given humans some of the best pictures and information of both gaseous planets, their moons, and satellites. It went further accomplishing its goal and later on became mankind’s first object to venture into interstellar space on 25th of August 2012. It remains useful science sends data back to Earth from beyond the heliosphere, the outer boundary of the Sun’s control.

Voyager 1 carries along with it a 12-inch gold-plated copper disc called the Golden Record which contains sounds and images that were picked to depict the richness of life and human beings in the Earth, for any alien civilization that will come across it in space. It’s still flying, maintaining itself with radioactive fuel, and is predicted to keep feeding data until about 2025.

Voyager 1 mission has certainly helped in exploring the vast and new frontier of the solar system and the edge of the interstellar medium, which could be considered a triumph of human space exploration.
