The Sun’s Poles Are Shifting: What Will Happen to Us?

The poles of Sun are always centers of the scientific attraction, as they provide valuable information about the state and behavior of the magnetic fields. Technical of solar poles is very much different from earth poles the sun poles are actual centers of various magnetic activities and are main protagonists of the sun cycle which is of nearly 11 years.

In this cycle there is a magnetic reversal whereby sun’s north pole switches its position with the south pole. This magnetic activity affects space weather of more than just a few days, disrupting satellite communications and power distribution on the Earth. Telescopic observations of the Sun’s poles allow to analyze various solar activities including sunspots, solar flares and coronal mass ejections.

Taking images of the poles is difficult since the Sun is located and there are few missions developed to achieve this like the European Space Agency’s Solar Orbiter whose objective is to capture precise images and data of these poles. Learning mysteries of the Sun poles helps scientists to forecast the activity of solar sphere and the impact of its fluctuations on our planet.
