The Magnetic Field of the Sun Is Flipping, and There’s a Problem!
The effect, which the Sun has on the magnetic field is multifaceted and varies in the entire solar system. Produced by the motion of conducting plasma in the body of the solar, this magnetic field builds a constantly evolving set of magnetic tubes, non-equilibrium regions, and flares on the solar atmosphere.
The Sun’s magnetic activity alternates with approximately an 11 year period, with a period called the solar cycle where the magnetic field swops polarity. This cycle affects phenomena such as solar wind and coronal mass ejections (CMEs) as far as space weather , and consequently the magnetosphere of Earth are concerned.
In particular, the correlation between the magnetic field of the Sun and its evolution is fundamental for the identification of effects of storms in the space that can include negative impacts on satellite communications as well as on power grids and other industries on the Earth.
