Take an Epic Journey to Kepler-452B, the Most Earth-Like Exoplanet Discovered So Far!
Kepler 452b is a planet in Cygnus star and it is 1420 million light years in space from the earth. It became known in 2015, with help of Kepler Space Telescope, because of its size and orbit – thus, an Earth-like planet. This planet revolves around a G-type star which is similar to our sun and this planet is in the star’s habitable area where there could be water on its surface.
It takes 385 days for this planet to orbit its star and is a ‘super-Earth’ as it is larger than Earth in terms of circumference.
It is not clear what kinds and elements Kepler-452b is made of, but most scientists believe that Kepler-452b is a rocky planet and that it can be protected by an atmosphere necessary to support life.
Out of all the planets Kepler-452b has stimulated the desire of other forms of life and has been instrumental in acquainting the audience with the variety of celestial bodies in the Milky Way.
