Sun’s Magnetic Field is About to Flip, and There’s a Problem
The magnetic field of the Sun is a fascinating and versatile factor, which influences all the processes and events on the surface of the star. It occurs due to the flow of electrically charged gases, referred to as plasma, within the core of the Sun and is popularly known as the solar dynamo. This also has a tremendously large magnetic field that pervades the whole of the solar system and defines the region referred to as the heliosphere. The Sun also has a cycle that takes nearly eleven years and this is characterized by a switch in the magnetic field.
This cycle also features sun activity including sun spots, flares and the coronal mass ejections. These activities may cause severe space weather which it may affect satellite operations, global positioning systems as well as power distribution networks on the Earth. The study of Sun’s magnetic field is crucial to determine the occurrence of several solar explosions that directly affect our technological systems.
The Sun has been very active lately and it’s about to undergo a critical and fascinating change: the flip has been redefined as the reversal of its magnetic field. This event takes place approximately every 11 years, the solar cycle being split in half, and it significantly impacts life on our planet.
In fact, there is a possibility that at any one day the Sun could pose a threat that would have disastrous consequence for every man, woman and child on this face of the earth as I am about to reveal you.
