Scientists Have Found a Black Hole So Huge That It Redefines Astronomy!
A black hole is a region in space where gravity is so strong that nothing, not even light, can escape its gravitational pull. The boundary surrounding a black hole is called the event horizon. Once an object crosses the event horizon, it is effectively trapped within the black hole, and nothing can escape its gravitational grasp.
Black holes are formed from the remnants of massive stars that have undergone gravitational collapse. When a massive star exhausts its nuclear fuel, it can no longer support itself against gravitational forces, and it collapses under its own gravity. If the mass of the collapsing star is above a certain critical value (approximately three times the mass of the Sun), it will continue collapsing to form a black hole.
It has been known for a long time: At the center of most galaxies is a supermassive black hole. At the center of our galaxy is the black hole Sagittarius A*, which is rather tiny at around four million solar masses.
The black hole that has now been discovered has 30 billion times the mass of our sun, making it a real giant!
