Scientists Discovered a Monstrous Black Hole Too Close to Earth
If scientists were to discover a black hole that was unusually close to Earth, it would likely be a cause for concern. Black holes are incredibly dense objects that have such strong gravitational forces that not even light can escape from them. If a black hole were too close to Earth, it could potentially disrupt the orbits of nearby planets, or even pull them in towards the black hole.
In this hypothetical scenario, scientists would likely use telescopes and other astronomical instruments to observe the black hole and gather data about its properties. They would also study the effects of the black hole on nearby stars and other objects to better understand its gravitational influence.
While a black hole too close to Earth would be a cause for concern, it’s important to note that such a discovery is purely hypothetical at this point. As far as we know, there are no black holes located in our immediate vicinity.
Black holes are dark, matter-devouring balls of gravity. Most of them are so far away that we don’t need to worry about them. But not this one. Meet Gaia BH1. This enormous black hole sits right outside our Solar System. More specifically, 1,600 light-years away from us.
