NASA Reveals What Is Hidden in the Kuiper Belt!
The Kuipers belt is a vast field of icy bodies which is situated beyond Neptune and covers anywhere between 30 and 55 Astronomical unit of space from the Sun. This remote region is filled with millions of little icy objects which are the leftovers from the formation of the solar system.
These objects include dwarf planets such as Pluto, Haumea, and Makemake together with countless numbers of comets among other icy bodies. The Kuiper Belt is also referred to as the ‘third giant’ in the solar system after the collection of terrestrial planets in the centre and the large planets of the outer fringes.
In turn, exploring it in more detail makes it possible to understand how the first stages of the creation of our solar system occurred as well as to get an idea of what the conditions were like more than 4.5 billion years ago.
Despite the fact that the Kuiper Belt is situated at a vast distance and is not highly documented, there are a lot of scientific values associated with this place and it continues to surprise astronomers after the launch of spacecraft like NASA’s New Horizons.
The Kuiper belt, an icy region, lying beyond Neptune, has always been rather mysterious.
NASA has only recently started revealing some amazing information about what can be found in this part of space which is still relatively unknown.
We need to be prepared for a lot, because the latest findings could prove that the history of our solar system was very different from what we thought.
Strange objects and a previously unknown planet could turn our view of the world completely upside down. Was it a big mistake that we paid too little attention to this region for so long?
