Almost 3.7 billion miles away from the sun, there exists a small, dark world that was once the ninth planet of the solar system. Today, Pluto is officially just a Trans-Neptunian object. Shortly after the planet was downgraded, NASA’s New Horizons probe reached this hitherto almost unknown world.

The measurement data surprised everyone, and for the very first time, NASA was able to publish real images of Pluto.
