NASA Just Revealed Voyager Made Contact With Unknown Object In Space
NASA Voyager is a space program consisting of two spacecraft, Voyager 1 and Voyager 2, which were launched in 1977 to study the outer solar system and beyond.
Both spacecraft have flown by Jupiter and Saturn, with Voyager 2 also visiting Uranus and Neptune, and are now exploring the outermost reaches of our solar system. They have provided invaluable scientific data on the planets they visited, including images, atmospheric measurements, and information about the planets’ magnetic fields and moons.
Voyager 1 is currently the farthest human-made object from Earth, having entered interstellar space in 2012, while Voyager 2 is expected to enter interstellar space in the coming years. Both spacecraft continue to send back data to Earth, over 40 years after their launch, and have become some of the most iconic and celebrated missions in space exploration history.
As Earth’s first representatives to the outer planets, the twin Voyager spacecraft captivated the public’s attention in the 1970s and 1980s by taking up-close pictures of Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, and Neptune.
On August 17, 1977, Voyager 2 was the first spacecraft to launch into orbit. Voyager 1 followed on September 5.
