It might seem really bizarre, but until 2019, there were more men (12) who had visited the lunar surface than those who had explored the deepest point of the ocean, the famous Mariana Trench (only 3!).

Judging by this fact, it would seem that reaching that abyss, nearly 11,000 meters deep, must somehow be considered much more difficult than traveling 400,000 kilometers into space! But of course, we’re talking about feats on very different levels, both technologically and psychologically.

It almost seems like humans are much more afraid of being confined in a bathyscaphe than on a spacecraft…
