Jupiters Moons – Travelling to Io, Ganymede and Calisto
Jupiters Moons are full of mystery.
Take Moon Io – it‘s the most vulcanic place in the whole solar system. It‘s know for huge fire fountains of lava and sulfate falling down like snow. The vulcanic activity is an effect of Io being in jupiters gravitational hand. The whole body of Io is squeezed by tidal forces of Jupiter.
In contrasts, Moon Ganymede comes with his own magnetic field. It‘s the biggest moon in the whole solar system. Moon Calisto is known for it‘s heavily cratered surface. The cratered surfaces of Ganymede and Calisto reveal the dark side of living in the same cosmic neighborhood with a giant like jupiter. Comets attracted by giant jupiters also hit the moons.
