In 2024 There Will Be A Once In A Lifetime Stellar Explosion Visible From Everywhere!
Contained within the constellation Corona Borealis there is a special star named T Coronae Borealis or more simply known as T CrB. Actually, this star is a double star system, which means there are two stars and they are very different.
But why are these two stars significant?
Most recently, a team of scientists from Louisiana State University wrote an article about this star in the Journal for the History of Astronomy. They went further in that article to explain that this star could be on the brink of a titanic explosion called NOVA in 2024.
But what is a nova and how does one know that it will occur at such time?
T coronae borealis (T CrB)It consists out of 10th-magnitude binaries which are too faint to be seen with the naked eye and barely visible to amateur telescope. It is classified as T CrB which is actually not a star but a binary star system.
A nova is a type of short-lived phenomenon in space which leads to the creation of a new star that looks fresh. That is why it was called “nova,” a term written in Latin as “nueva” and meaning new. This appearance of a “new” star is temporary and may remain visible for weeks and even months. But as we mentioned, it is not the appearance of a new star, but a phenomenon which emits a brightness, which, as if a new star has appeared according to the observation from Earth.
But how does a nova occur?
Nova arises from two main-sequence stars in a binary system. Usually, the stars in binary systems are very similar in nature. Nonetheless, in most cases, one of the two stars will be denser than the other which means that the denser star will burn through its fuel at a faster rate and therefore, it will move through the different phases of stellar evolution faster.
What makes you sure it will explode in 2024?
T CrB, as stated earlier, has experienced blasts in the past that are observed by the American Association of Variable Star Observers or AAVSO. Where and how can it be seen best?At Insane Curiosity, we don’t like to be sensationalists, so we’ll be honest with you: It will not be done again in 80 years!Unlike the solar eclipse witnessed on April 8 that can easily be observed, this one cannot be easily observed.
