Gaia Discovered Hidden Galaxies INSIDE Our Milky Way
Regarding the Milky Way, the European Space Agency’s Gaia project has drastically changed our view, and now the latest and most surprising data found that there are hidden galaxies lurking behind our own galaxy. Whereas previously considered to be a singular solid body, the Milky Way might in reality have been composed of relics of ancient galaxies that may have fused with it during billions of years.
These ghostly celestial formations, which had been hidden by the interstellar dust and had been part of the complex gravitational interactions, are now being exposed since Gaia’s measurements are very precise to the stellar movements and chemical compositions of them.
The unveiling of this discovery not only will reshape what we have known about the evolution of galaxies but it also will challenge our awareness of the cosmic past. Maybe these hidden galaxies can disclose the nature of dark matter, the paths of stars through space, or even the destiny of our galaxy?
