Elon Musk SLAMS Media Reports of Robot Attack in Tesla’s Texas Factory!
In response to recent media accusations that a robot “attack” occurred in a Tesla factory in Austin, Elon Musk finally issued a statement. Is this true or not?
“Truly shameful of the media to dredge up an injury from two years ago due to a simple industrial Kuka robot arm (found in all factories) and imply that it is due to Optimus now,” Musk stated in a post on X on Wednesday.
The CEO of Tesla was reacting to a user on X who had shared a report from the Daily Mail on Tuesday with regard to an incident involving a factory robot in 2021.
Additional coverage of the incident was provided by The Information in a story that was published one month ago. An engineer was reportedly performing software updates on the factory’s robots when he was grabbed and pressed against the surface by one of the machines, as stated by two witnesses, as reported by the outlet.
They further stated that the engineer was left bleeding after the robot had sunk its claws into his body. Eventually, the engineer was able to break free from the robot’s grasp when another worker pulled the button that indicated an emergency stop as reported by The Information.
Musk’s anger, on the other hand, appears to be directed on the way in which the Daily Mail has framed the disaster. In their story, The Daily Mail featured a picture that depicted Tesla’s humanoid Optimus robots. However, the Kuka robot arm that was engaged in the incident in 2021 was not included in the thumbnail.
In light of the fact that Musk has high expectations for the Optimus robots, his defense shouldn’t come as a surprise. He stated that the economy may become “quasi-infinite” if the Optimus robots were capable of performing manual labor when he first introduced them to the public a year ago.
“This represents a prosperous future ahead of us. At that time, Musk expressed his desire for a future in which there would be no poverty and in which people would be able to get any goods or services they desired.
Musk’s Tesla plants, on the other hand, have been plagued with safety problems for a long time. In the year 2020, California officials stated that Tesla had provided them with manufacturing injury data that were incomplete.
Concerns regarding Tesla’s Giga Texas facility have been on the table for quite some time.
A disturbing piece of information that was published in The Information showed that in 2022, nearly one worker out of every 21 was hurt on the job. This is in contrast to the median rate of one worker out of every 30 workers in the business.
Approximately one worker out of every 26 was affected by more severe injuries sustained on the job, according to the statistic.
When compared to the median rate of similar accidents occurring at comparable large car companies in the United States, the rate at which such injuries occurred was one in every 38 workers.
While Tesla was in the process of constructing its Giga Texas factory, which was 2,000 acres in size, a construction worker at the factory passed away from heat stroke in September of 2021.
