Astronomers Found a Black Hole That Broke Science
They are interesting celestial objects with a high density and an immense amount of mass that prevents light from leaving it. It forms when giant stars run out of their nuclear fuel and then squeeze the rest of their mass into a black hole or singularity – a point of zero volume but with infinite density.
The line around this singularity is called the event horizon, and anything that passes it cannot escape being pulled towards the black hole. Black holes also come in different scales: stellar black holes, namely black holes formed from individual stars; supermassive black holes residing in the middle of galaxies and whose masses are millions or even billions of that of the Sun. Still, black holes are noticeable due to the impact they have on other celestial bodies and the radiation of X-rays as they feed on anything surrounding them.
They remain of considerable interest to scientists and astronomers, as they hold key knowledge of the properties of the physical world and the enigma of the cosmos.
