New Study Proposes Warp Drives Could Be Feasible Without Exotic Negative Energy

Science fiction is now closer to reality than it used often think as warp drives came into view. A recent theoretical article indicates that building a functional warp drive might not require the ‘exotic’ negative energy as established in Alcubierre model introduced in 1994.

This research introduces a new framework which implements regular and advanced gravitational methods to design a speedy warp chasm. Even though it is yet a breakthrough in the development of space flight it carries with it a lot of promise and potential into the future possibly signifying the start of a new age. This article looks at the intriguing revenue of the warp drives coming from fantasy and becoming a workable reality.

This is a science fiction that is similar to the trademarks of “Star Trek” where one uses the warp drives that in theory involves contracting the space-time forward of the space craft and expanding the behind of it to create a “warp bubble” to enable fast space travel.

Thus, in 1994, the Mexican physicist Miguel Alcubierre introduced the idea of a real warp drive was outlined. However, this model had a significant drawback: it took negative energy, that is an energy which in fact has not been proved to exist or dark energy which is that power by which is believed that expansion of the universe took place.

Alcubierre’s theory was published in the British Journal of Physics entitled Classical and Quantum Gravity. A new paper in the same journal implies that warp drives don’t require the exotic and theoretical negative energy after all.

“This particular work has altered the tone of warp drives discussion,” explained the lead author, Jared Fuchs from the University of Alabama, Huntsville, and Applied Physics. “When we proposed a new model, what we have shown is that warp drives are not necessarily the stuff of science-fiction. ”

Fuchs and his team at CERN have created a warp bubble bringing high speed travelling under the principles of current physics within a range of possibility.

Despite the fact that this model does not feature an ability to travel at a faster than light speed it could in theory reach velocities just below that commonly referred to as ‘high but subluminal velocities. ’

As this is an initial modeling study, it is crucial to avoid excess of enthusiasm. However, even if other research corroborates these truths, creating an effective warp drive stays a long way off. Fuchs and his team understand this, acknowledging their work as the initial preparation for actual space travel.

“While we are not yet setting off for space exploration, this work represents the beginning of a new space age for humanity,” said Gianni Martire, CEO of Applied Physics. “We are moving forward gradually as humanity has entered the era of the Warp.
