Earth’s Core Has Stopped Spinning, What Now?
The core of the Earth is a versatile area situated in the center of our planet, which is rather intricate. It is composed of two main parts: Thus, on one side you have what is called the inner core and this is a solid, and on the other side, the outer core that is a liquid. It mainly comprises of iron and nickel and has a size of about 1220 kilometers operational radius. However, the pressure that is applied is a tremendous one, nearly amounting to 3 The formula for pressure used using the subscripts is P1=x/(2X10^5) 10P2 Here, P1 refers to the first pressure, which in this case is the pressure at the bottom of the tank subindex of 101Ph refers to the second pressure bottom of the tank subindex of 101 The volume that is used
Of this pressure, 6 million times atmospheric pressure on sea level, the inner core remains solid because of the situation temperature at 5700 degrees centigrade, 10300 degrees Fahrenheit. Moving outside the inner core is the outer core, which is the fluid layer whose thickness is approximately 2,300 kilometers (1,430 miles). This outer core is made up of iron and nickel like the inner core but it is in the liquid state hence it can move.
The motion of the liquid iron in the outer core creates the earth’s magnetic field through a process referred to as the geodynamo. This magnetic field is crucial to life as it protects the Earth against dangerous cosmic and solar radiation. Knowledge of Earth’s core allows scientists to further the concepts of the planet formation and its internal structure, and the processes which resulted in the formation of the phenomena which are considered now, for example, the plate tectonics or magnetic poles reversals.
This could interfere with our technology ranging from communication as well as navigation systems.
Weather systems could become unstable, and thus rose the chances of erratic weather and possibly worse natural catastrophes.
So let’s be thankful that the Earth core is still spinning- it is quite a scary thought to even imagine!
