The Fermi Paradox: Where is Everybody? Is There Any Other Intelligent Life Out There?
Arthur C. Clarke said, “Two possibilities exist: We are either the only planet in this entire universe that is endowed with life or we are not the only planet with life.
Both are horrible scenarios to imagine. ” In my knowledge for the past half a century nobody has substantiated credible proof of Aliens or extra terrestrial life forms. The Fermi paradox is one of the most famous paradoxes in science and it was created in 1950 when Enrico Fermi asked the question: As if on cue, for the few people in the large meeting room, where is everyone? I would like to first rephrase this question in a manner that would allow me to attempt to answer it.
When one gazing at the starry night, it becomes difficult to remain an emotional vacuum. They do not make movies to portray how each person sees the beauty of a good, starry night. Enrico Fermi also probably had that thought- “Where is everybody?”
A clear starry night may give the impression that space is indeed vast, but in reality, we only see our local area. If on very clear night with no light pollution and no bad weather is experienced you would be able to clearly see only 3000 stars and almost all of them would be less than 1000 light years away from us.
Thus, the part of the universe that we can directly observe is a minuscule one.
So, when we consider scenarios with stars and planets far away, a question which most of us will have asked at some point is, Is there anyone else out there?Let us consider this situation from the perspective of science.
Kardashev scale is a thing that we have to learn before going further and that’s why let me explain it to you now. By using the Kardashev scale in categorising intelligent civilisations, it becomes easier to identify their level of sophistication.
