Neuralink is a company launched in 2016 by entrepreneur Elon Musk to design a new generation of interface between humans and machines. The company’s main product and core interest is to design and build the ultrahigh-bandwidth brain-machine interfaces BMIs to integrate computers and human.

These BMIs employ the insertion of tiny flexible threads into the brain that record and even activate neurons.

Musk sees Neuralink solutions as one of the major means to address various neurological disorders such as Parkinson’s disease, epilepsy, or paralysis by using the Neuralink approach as a means of directly connecting brain connections with outside devices.

In the long-term perspective, Musk envisions humans getting integrated with artificial intelligence to augment thought process and to make sure there is constant progress in this field to keep up with rapidly developing AI technologies.

This large scale enterprise aligns with Musk’s overarching vision of increasing human capability and additionally addressing some of the most important issues facing neuroscience and technology.
