Scientists Have Found A Black Hole So Huge That It Redefines Astronomy
A black hole is a region in space where gravity is so strong that nothing, not even light, can escape from it once it crosses the boundary known as the event horizon. Black holes are formed from the remnants of massive stars that have undergone gravitational collapse.
The concept of black holes was first proposed in the 18th century based on Newtonian physics, but it wasn’t until the early 20th century, with the development of Einstein’s theory of general relativity, that the modern understanding of black holes emerged.
But now scientists have just discovered a black hole so massive it’s rewriting the rules of astronomy as we know them.
We’re talking about a colossal black hole that, if dropped at the center of our solar system, would extend far beyond interstellar space.
This ultra massive black hole is about 32 billion times heavier than our Sun.
