NASA Had to Reinvent the Wheel, But Why
NASA had to do a little cosmic DIY and reinvent the wheel – but not just for kicks. Turns out, traditional wheels don’t cut it on the rough and rocky surface of Mars. So, NASA rolled up its sleeves and created these crazy-looking, springy contraptions called “tensegrity” wheels.
They’re like the Swiss army knives of space rovers, flexing and adapting to Mars’ tricky terrain.
It’s like interplanetary off-roading at its finest!
So, next time you’re stuck with a flat tire on Earth, just think, at least it’s not on Mars.
