There are plenty of natural satellites in our solar system but none of them have a relationship with their planets like the one the moon and the earth have. There is no other natural satellite in the solar system that is as large as the moon in proportion to its parent planet and that has such a significant impact on both the biosphere and the geography of the globe.

This link between the two cosmic bodies is unique to the solar system.
By precisely 3.8 cm each year, the moon is getting farther and farther away from earth, and one day it will leave earth all by itself as it will wander off to get milk and never come back.
